Providing the Most Innovative Therapies for the Best Results

Our priority at The Atlantes is to ensure our guests achieve their rehabilitation goals. One way we help realize their dreams is by providing the most innovative physical therapy resources possible.

State-of-the-art Aquatic Therapy Pool

Our state-of-the-art aquatic therapy pool offers a variety of important health benefits, including:

  • Increased blood flow through warm, relaxing water
  • Gentler rehabilitation through water resistance instead of weights
  • Reduced joint swelling and pain
  • Improved flexibility and muscle strengthening
  • Better endurance
  • Enhanced morale and self-esteem through a better opportunity for success

Aquatic therapy works for guests at all different stages of weight-bearing status – while decreasing stress on joints and promoting self-confidence and safety. With a variety of waterproofing techniques, our physical therapists ensure the protection of surgical sites throughout the entire healing process.

Our physical therapy pool features a variable speed treadmill and propulsion for rehabilitation that’s easier on joints

Featuring safe access via steps or a chair lift, our therapy pool’s water temperature is fully automated and easily adjustable for treating any condition. Other pool features include a variable speed treadmill for gait training with incremental speeds and two propulsion jets with variable speeds for different exercise intensity levels, which increase joint mobility

We invite you to take a tour of The Atlantes to see how we provide personalized care that produces the best possible results.

How does aquatic physical therapy help?

Aquatic physical therapy (APT) exercises help improve a variety of functions, including balance, coordination, agility, flexibility, gait and posture. This type of therapy can help treat many conditions such as:

  • Arthritis
  • Back/spine pain and injuries
  • Joint replacement recovery
  • Neurological disorders
  • Orthopedic injuries
  • Post-surgical care
  • Post-accident injuries

“Our aquatic therapy pool provides a comfortable, soothing environment for exercise”, says Dr. Denver Stanfield. “Our physical therapists may include aquatic therapy exercises in the plan of care as our guests have greater, pain-free movement that’s much easier on all the joints.”
